Why do we collect your personal information?
We collect your personal information for the purposes set out below:
- provide you with services and act effectively in the context of our business relationship with you;
- personalize and improve your stay in our establishment;
- verify your identity;
- process billing and payment
- improve and personalize the content of our website;
- obtain feedback and quality assurance on our services;
- contact you for marketing purposes;
- process your inquiry or customer request

Additionally, we may use Usage Information to help us measure the success of our website and to tailor the advertising you see on our website or other websites, based on your online behavior, search activity, demographic information, and/or general location. We do not collect, use or disclose usage information, provide personalized experiences or monitor individuals reasonably identified as visiting the Website from the European Union.
When do we disclose your personal information?
Your personal information will not be used to place you on mailing lists, except with your specific prior consent. We do not sell our customer lists, trade or rent your personal information to third parties. We may share your information with our subsidiaries or affiliates, who will in turn be bound by this policy.
We may disclose your personal information to third parties but only in accordance with this policy and to the extent required or permitted by law, including in the following circumstances:
- to our customer loyalty program, Amsterdam Inn Rewards, so that they can provide services to you. Your enrollment in the Amsterdam Inn Rewards loyalty program is optional, and by choosing to enroll, you consent to the collection and use of your personal information as set forth herein.
- to our booking platforms, including Siteminder and Skytouch, and our other service providers and suppliers who perform business, professional or technical support functions, such as booking management, data processing or storage, payment processing, account collection, delivery or IT support. These service providers will be granted access to your information only for the purposes of performing their functions, but will not be permitted to use your information for any other purpose;
- Aggregated information may be shared with third parties, analytics or advertising partners, marketing agencies or media partners so that they can measure how you interact with our website and social media accounts, and personalize or tailor advertising to you. However, this information will not contain any personal information that allows the identification of individual consumers;
- to a travel agent who, in our reasonable judgment, is acting on your behalf;
- to comply with a court order, subpoena, summons, warrant or other legal process;
- to law enforcement' for the purposes of investigating fraud or other breach of law, including disclosure in the interest of public safety;
- to our legal, financial and other professional advisors or in connection with the sale or reorganization of all or part of our business or operations;
- if necessary, if we believe there has been a violation of this policy; and

In accordance with this policy, any disclosure of your personal information to third parties is made on a confidential basis only, and third parties are required by Amsterdam to comply with all relevant privacy and security laws. However, we are not responsible for any third party's failure to comply with such laws, rules and/or regulations, and are not liable for any associated harm or damage caused by a third party, including any harm or damage associated with the potential use or disclosure of your personal information.
Consent
For personal information collected from you other than through the Website and our social media pages (which you have consented to be collected by using these services, in accordance with this Policy), Amsterdam will ask you, at the time of collection, for your consent to collect, use and disclose the information in accordance with the provisions of this Policy. Your consent is not mandatory and may be withdrawn at any time. However, please note that the absence of consent or the withdrawal of consent may limit our ability to offer you certain products or services.

We will use reasonable efforts to comply with the provisions of Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation, including, but not limited to, requiring express prior consent before sending you any commercial electronic messages. If you no longer wish to receive commercial emails or other messages from us, you may withdraw your consent by following the instructions in the last message, or by contacting us at marketing@amsterdaminss.com. We will respond to any such request as soon as possible.
Information relating to minors
We do not intentionally collect personal information or offer services, reservations or rooms to children under the age of 13.
We do not offer services, reservations or room reservations to persons under the age of 21 without the written consent of a parent or guardian and the prior approval of Amsterdam management.
Extent of information collected, security and retention
Amsterdam only collects information necessary for the purposes set out in this policy and will retain your personal information only for as long as necessary for those purposes.
We understand the importance of protecting your information and have therefore implemented confidentiality measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, use or modification, including physical, organizational and technological safeguards.
